An accomplished World War II fighter pilot, in 1947 Ralph Bradley became the first distributor of one-piece aluminum garage doors in Chicago. Later, he went on to manufacture custom wood garage doors under the Chieftain brand name. These beautiful custom redwood garage doors continue to operate in many homes throughout Chicago and the suburbs today.
In 1968, Ralph formed a partnership with Raynor Garage Door Company, the industry leader in residential garage door and commercial overhead door manufacturing. This partnership enabled Raynor Door of Northfield to become Chicago’s leading family-owned garage and overhead door company.
